We've just had the phone call that number 3 daughter (aged 11) has to go into hospital on Monday to have her tonsils out.  We told her when she got home from school and she burst into tears!  We were originally told September, but we asked if it could be done earlier as she starts secondary school in September and didn't want her missing too much at the start of term.  Didn't quite expect the appointment that quick, but at least she should be better by September.

I hate taking my children into hospital for operations, she's had both eyes corrected for a squint, grometts and adenoids and she was born 9 weeks early with LOTS of problems, although now she is 100% fighting fit, I keep promising 'last time Paige'

Good luck with Paiges op on monday she must be so fed up, but having tonsils out is for the best as I had mine out at 14 and my eldest son had his out at 5 years old..I had so much time off school with my tonsils and since having them out 23 years ago I have not suffered at all with sore throats..Just tell her she can eat jelly and icecream for the first day or so..even though they made my son eat toast etc...

We're back home now, Paige was a star patient, didn't complain once, even after 4 attempts at putting a drip in :-(  She was very good though, ate lunch when she got back from theatre, ate dinner and continued drinking all day and night, she was so brave!

Hi glad she is ok was thinking of her..my middle son yesterday got brought home from school and now has got tonsil problems again..looks we will be having the op soon!!..Just my daughter to go!
Nice to hear Paige is eating ok, it actually helps the healing process quicker...
