What a suprise!! This is the first bit of stormy weather my 6month long haired gsd has seen. I was so suprised at how much she likes it. Previous dogs would not go out in the rain by choice and one was scared of the wind if strong. It was just like when a pup sees snow for the first time. She thought it was super to chase the blowing wet leaves but her favourite was trying to catch the rain water coming out of the down spout from the gutters, putting her whole head under it. One very wet pup. I eventually managed to get her to come in and dried her off with a large towel but two mins. later she was clawing at the door to go out again. I was not sure if this was to play or to relieve herself so could not say NO. Guess what, it was just to play in the rain again. What fun to watch but one very wet house.
Glazby my boxer loves the rain too!! Thought he'd hate it as all the books we'd read about them before getting him had said that boxers weren't too keen!! He was out in it yesterday on our walk - and he found a new game - he'd walk along sniffing as usual and then a big gust of wind would tickle his bum and he'd jump round landing in his playful position head down between paws and bum in the air looking for what had "goosed him" and then the wind would get him again from the other side so he'd jump round again and couldn't find what it was!!
Guess you had to be there to see it but it was very funny and brightened up a very wet and rainy walk!! :-)
:D Glazby sounds such fun no wonder I never meet grumpy boxer owners. Morse also loves blustery days chasing leaves, harrassing the multitudes of birds out in the wet and he LOVES snails. Yuk. Why do I pay out for decent feed when he loves eating/playing with snails? Havent had dry feet for 2 days now since the torrents started and must get overtrousers before winter.

my dad has a dog that sits in the rain with her mouth open licking the drip ...fun to watch not good for the floor when she comes in
I need to sort myself out with some over trousers too - and a nice new warm waxed jacket come to that!!
Does Morse like to eat the snails or does he do what Glazby does and crunches them up and then spits them out ready for Mum to tread on them - YUK!!!
I must say there is never a dull moment with a boxer - he's managed on more than one ocassion to have me laughing out loud when moments earlier I've had the weight of the world on my shoulders!! :-)

my baby boxer seems to hate the rain, totally refuses to go out to do her business in the rain resulting in three 'accidents' in two days. I've even stood in the garden with her (with an umbrella) for 20 minutes and she just sits as close to the house as she can looking sooo sad. ;-)
