Please could I have some views of what people suggest that i should be feeding my bitch if she is pregnant. I Know i couldnt change straight away!!

We've just got back from the vets, she told us to feed a good quality puppy food  1:1 calcium/phosphorus for the last 2 weeks of pregnancy

I don't change my bitches' feeding regime till they are about 5-6 weeks in whelp, when I start to reduce the amount of carbohydrate and add more high-quality protein. It is at about this time that I give her more, smaller meals as there is less room inside for the amount of food.

I feed my dogs Burns and at around the 4-5 week stage I change for the venision and Rice down to the mini bites and keep them on that untill around 6 weeks after the pups have been weaned

i agree with jeanie your dog should be healthy in the first place or you wouldint have bred from her !
so keep on what she is on until the last couple of weeks, (good quality puppy food)
you dont want to change her diet and cause upset tummy, i feed my girl on peddigree tin mixed with peddigree complete
then last couple of weeks swap the to puppy .

Like the others I don't change food until preganancy is confirmed, and about 5 weeks I change to a performance food, that which the puppies will be fed on.  I doin't increase the amoundt until about six weeks, and then gradually to the end of preganancy so that they are then getting about half as much as normal, but of a higher quality food.  After birth I feed at least four times a day and as much as they want.

thankyou i have got book of bitch and has been well studied. So basically last 2 weeks feed the same brand but puppys

I work on a similar system too, I change on to Eukanuba Puppy at week 6, polus offer goats milk, and add chicken, oily fish, eggs (or increase the amount, really as they get them anyway)  Often find that in last 7 -m 10 days the bitchh will be very fussy, so I pander to them a bit, and give whatever they are willing ot eat without problem.  After whelping I keep them on the puppy food and milk, and they get 3 - 4 meals a day, increasing as the pups grow.
