sunday we picked our Alfie up, he`s a black cocker spaniel 9 wks old we found him through champ dogs.He `s been soooo good, poo`s and wee`s on the newspaper, eats well, sleeps well(and through the night)and plays well.he is so gentle when he nibbles you it`s more like a kiss.i have been practising making him sit with a treat he`s been doing really well.i ignore him if i`m busy and after a little bark and whine he plays or settles for a sleep.we have landed in are feet with Alfie he is a fab puppy.we wish we`d got him sooner.                                                                                                                All the way to norfolk we went and boy it was worth it.off to the vets today for the jab and a check up.the groomer`s coming later to see him she`s excited too.are cockers always this easy?.i know they can get a bit naughty but i hope this good behaviour means his temperament is good, relaxed and of course merry. Also he`s in a crate with a puppy pen around it he loves his crate and does`nt seem too bothered by his new collar. We love him to bits.my kids my kids do too.

hey, congrats on your pup...we have a blue roan pup of 5 1/2 months called Snoop and he's yummy too! Had other spaniels before, but this one is different...he's so laid back and so far, obedient...mind you that's probably because I was manic with him for the first few weeks regarding "no" and toilet training...they're so loving aren't they?? Alfie sounds gorgeous....

I too have an Alfie, though not a cocker, he is a 9 month old black lab. Your Alfie sounds a lovely pup, it really does feel so good when you have looked forward to getting a pup for years and you finally get them home and can enjoy them.  I am looking forward to lots of fun filled years with my Alfie.  On the temperment note, my mum has had 3 blue roan cockers and all have been wonderful, placid dogs but all have had a cheeky side!!!  Enjoy Alfie!
