Does anyone know of any decent ringcraft clubs near Basingstoke ?  We used to have a fantastic one in Basingstoke, it was quite big and ran regular matches but this was about 15 years ago and it seems to have disappeared   I have been to see a couple fairly nearby, one was really tiny and only had one strip of mat going down the floor and most of the time was spent sitting around, Fagan only got a couple of "gos" and spent most of the time trying to pull out elastic bands from a poodles head  The other one seemed ok but they didnt do matches and the lady running it was a bit scary   I have contacted the kennel club but they only came up with three and one of them was on the Isle of Wight - I dont mind travelling to another town but to catch a ferry on a Thursday night for ringcraft is a bit much :D :D :D

Ours is at Colden Common, near Marwell Zoo, straight down the M3, Tues night but probably still too far, much nearer than Isle Of Wight tho :)

That actually isnt that far, my village is quite close to the M3.  Is it a large ringcraft club?  What time does it start? I might pop along tonight.

I go to same ringcraft as Debbie, it sarts at around 7.30pm.  We wont be there tonight as other commitments have risen, but we generally go every week.  If you need directions Debs is the best person to ask.  Sarah :)

I don't know how far Headley is from you, but Headley ringcraft has quite a good reputation; I haven't been myself though.  It's held at Headley Village Hall on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Hope that helps.

Claire if u come off M3 Jn 11 Twyford onto B335 and follow signs for Marwell zoo which is on B2177, go past zoo on your left, then you will see turning on right for Fair Oak, The Alma pub is on the junction, as soon as you turn onto Fair Oak road the community hall is on your right.(apx 5miles from M3)
It is friendly, more so once you get to know everyone, Francis is an experienced judge and shows Setters herself, the hall is bigger than some rings I have shown in :)   and we do have matches, £2 per dog, finishes apx 9.30 pm.

Hi Debbie,

Unfortunately my laptop at home has died so I couldnt access CD again until I got to work this morning.  I will definitely be there next week, it sounds ideal.

Thanks

I know of one in Farnborough, can't recommend it yet as I haven't had a chance to go along yet!

Is this Headley near Kingsclere, if so that is quite close to me.  Unfortunately Wednesday isnt a particularly good night (weightwatchers  ) I might pop along and see what its like though, I can always change my weightwatchers night !!

Headley near Grayshott - I would have thought that it is about half an hour from Basingstoke.  It's got to be more fun than weight watchers!!

I think im going to go for the one near winchester (as the lady herself shows Setters it could be useful )  thanks anyway (looks like it will still be weightwatchers on a wednesday then :(  )

You've got the right breed then :)  Francis won't be scarey.
