Can anyone tell me if fungi (the sort that grows on wood) or the fruit from a cherry blossom tree are hamful to dogs? Maddie had a very bad dose of the 'runs'
for over a week and the vet said it was possibly something she ate. As she hasnt had anything different given to her, the only things I can think of are the above mentioned.
All fungi has been removed and I am constantly sweeping the cherries and cherry stones away. Any ideas please?

If she is eating cherries you will probably find some evidence in her outpourings (stones).  It could be anything from heat, dirty water, bad batch of dog food

A few years ago one of my cockers had the runs it was really bad and wasn,t clearing up after a couple of days. I had a look around the garden and found that she had been stripping bark off the base of our conifer trees and eating some of it. I took her to the vets and he told me that the resin in the bark was harmfull and that was the cause. We have taken all of the conifers down now, there was fifteen of them!. I also had one that had the runs badly from eating snails. I stopped this by checking the garden every day (hard work) and picking them up before she could get them.

Oh gosh I forgot about conifers. I have a low growing one that she nibbles at and she can also reach the leaves off the tall ones behind some fencing. Thank you I will see to that now. She is ok at the moment after a week of antibiotics and recovery food from the vets.
