just read some posts, where you lot have said its a very bad idea to get 2 puppies together.
Well I brought a golden retriever puppy and a labrador puppy at almost the same time, they are 1 week apart in age.
I have had no problems atall with training them and rearing them.
They are one year now, and perfect dogs, who are the best of friends.
So dont be so quick to say dont get two pups, its worked fine for me, and this is not the first time ive had more than one pup at a time.
Yes i admit its hard work, but i wouldnt say its any harder than one pup.

as you have already mentioned you have had the experience of two pups at the same time already- but to a novice owner or someone who may never have had a dog of their own , I think it needs to be pointed out what hard work it can be :)
It can also depend on the amount of time you have available to train a dog ( or pair) and the breed itself are both important factors to consider.
There are other experienced owners who have found it more difficult with two - and it would be unwise not to point out the "possible " difficulties one could face
Why dont you join so you can share your experiences with those needing help and advice :)

Of course, this is all relative; one persons well trained perfect dog may well be another persons nightmare. Would still say in general it is best for the owner and better for the pup to have a owners undivided attention until the are adult.
It can also depend on the breed :(

We are talking 2 working breeds here, a Lab and Golden Retriever, not my breeds but at the age they are now I would have expected to be the time to put in the most effort, the owner said they got on well together and if the truth were known there in lies the possible problems, only time will tell. Even if this is successful I would not be advising it.

Well they are only 1 year old at the mo; let us see what they are like in another year's time...................................

Just to put another twist on the received wisdom here - but some toy breeds are fine as "twosomes". Still bond with owners, just a little more work on the toilet training front, as 2 to watch.

I've kept two pups from my last litter (now 17 weeks old) - they have been a real joy BUT so hard to house train - we've just got there ( almost !). The up side is that they have kept each other amused and are very easy going confident puppies. They are not quite so bonded with me and I do have to make the effort to train them separately but they are both very eager to cuddle up to us and love human company. My breed is quite difficult in general as pups ( Belgians) and I have to say on balance that these two have been the easiest I've ever had !
