I have a dog that I cannot show because he is too tall. Apparently i can handle him junior handling because it is judged on the dog not you. Is this true?

Yes but he must also be entered in a breed class at the show too.

get in touch with the ykc as there are classes for non pedigree dogs at some shows now, not just companion showsif you contact the ykc they will give you more info.

You mean to say they judge you not the dog...

Anyway at shows above companion show level you will still have to enter him into breed classes and are ment to exhibit them in the breed aswell (allthough this does not always happen) 

You can contact the YKC (Young kennel club) and do Junior handling events they hold, personally I dont like them (Just my personal opinion!) and Sometimes Junior handling calls for a good qulity dog, which is not how it should be done but unfortantly it is, You never see handlers with poor dogs do well :(

What breed do you have?  How to tall is he from the breed staderd?

Depending on the breed, too tall may not be such a problem - it depends whether the breed standard gives definite or approx sizes. I have a dog taller than the breed standard, but in my breed the size is given as "approximately" and my boy has won two tickets.
