MY BOY IS GETTING ON NOW, HE WILL BE 8 IN NOVEMBER. I AM LOOKING FOR A MATE FOR HIM, AS I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANOTHER STAFF PUPPIE THAT MY DOG HAD FATHERD? ANYONE HELP?

Basically he is way too old to sire his first litter. If you want a pup like him it would be best to go back to his breeder and see if they know of a close relation.

why is he way to old to sire a litter ? i knew a stafford that sired his first and only litter at 13 years old.

OK, lets put it another way, why on earth would someone wish to use an 8 year old dog as a stud, either he has always been suitable to breed from or he has not. Anyone who heads the post as this guest does would be best told to forget it and buy a pup from the same breeder.
Why on earth did some one use a dog of 13 years to sire a litter, there are 100's of quality studs so who is silly enough to use a unproven 13year old.

i get your point and agree with most of it.the 13 year old was a very good dog but his owner never offered him at public stud, despite being asked on many occasions (once by myself)he also had no female of his own . the time came that he wanted a pup from him for himself and at that time owing to circumstances the dog was 13 and he sired a healthy litter with no problem whatsoever.

Well, of course, there are always exceptions - cases when a line can only be picked up that way, but in most cases in a breed as thick on the ground Staffs there are in most cases at least a 100 better ways.
