hello
is it legal to hunt rabbits with your dog?
i wanted to ask some of you guys who keep chickens is it legal to have a chickens leg tied up with about 3 meter cord so they dont fly in to next doors property,is it also legal to tie a dog up,because i have travellers living near me they have ther dogs tied up.
cheers
No real answers but why don't you clip one wing on each chicken - this throws them off balance so they are unable to fly. Seems more sensible then tying them up. You cut the flight feathers at theend of the wing back to almost level with the shorter feathersalongside them.

if they are travellers then i imagine the birds are gamebirds (fighting cocks) and they are tied to stop them killing each other, but this is just my guess,if they are just run of the mill chickens then you can have them properly clipped or even just build a pen with a pig wire roof .it is legal to tie a dog up as long as it has proper shelter and water etc and his welfare is looked after properly, personally i prefer to see a dog tied up than in a pen as they seem to get more socialisation ie they can be petted everytime the owner passes instead of the owner having to unlock pen type kennels to do this, although like many i think a dogs place is in the home.it is also legal still to hunt rabbits as long as you have permission to be on the land you are hunting but i do not know for how much longer

Yes it is legal to hunt rabbits with dogs, and will probably remain that way , but you have to own the land or have the landowners permission.
