My wife and I would like to breed our little yorkie Bella but have no idea as to how to go about it.
She is All black ( i know its unusual) and has just finished her first season ,so i think we would have to wait for her to have another season before we could mate her . As she is a family pet "member" we would like to mate her with a boy of similar background.
hope somebody can help us, we live in prestatyn, north wales but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance.
many thanks

I thought the breed standard was dark steel blue with tan on chest?

The puppy coat is sometimes very dark but Yorkies should always have a tan face and chest.

From the brief description that you've given, it doesn't sound as though Bella is a good representitive of the breed.  If her breeder isn't knowledgable about Yorkies then contact one of the Yorkie Clubs to get an assessment of her quality for breeding.  Most pets are lovely companions but not of suitable quality to breed from.
Breeding your much loved pet with no experience of canine whelping is a risky thing to do.  I won't allow the bitches that I breed to have their lives put at risk like that and so endorse their Kennel Club Registrations accordingly.
PS - Does Bella have a tail?

To be honest, if she is solid black then she isn't of breeding quality - she should be kept solely as a much-loved pet.
:)
