Hi all
I have just got back from the vet, he isn't sure whats wrong with Buffy but he said that her temperature was very high. It is 41. He has given her antibotics and a jab for the pain (in case there is any).
He said that if she was no better by 3 today i had to take her straight back and he wants to see her again tomorrow morning to check.
When we got in she just sort of flopped to the floor, i have put ice in her water and i rang the vet back to see if it was ok to hose her down and he said that i should. He also said that if there is no improvement in an hour, 2 tops he wants her back.
I am now really worred, anyone else had simular probs before.

Has she been in season? is she drinking a lot? I would be tempted to take her back asap
No she hasnt been in season and yes she is drinking a lot. She seems a bit happier now.
Hwer eyes are brighter and she is sulking because i wont let her out to play with the kids.
She has got another 45 mins to make a vast improvement or the vet wants her back anyway.
Thanks debbie

hiya
sorry to hear about buffy, i'd take her back just for peace of mind, hope she feels better soon
You could soak a towel in cold water, wring it out & lay it over & under her, might help her temp to go down. Add some honey to her water may encourage her to drink. One of mine had temp of 42 when he was a pup, it`s a big worry I know, but just when you least expect it, it can drop :) Hope she`s alright soon.

Sorry to hear Buffy isnt feeling well, hope she feels better soon, When you put a wet towel on Buffy put some ice cubes inside the towel too.

Hi all
I took Buffy back to the vet this afternoon, she gave me an awfull fright. The kids came in from school and she just about lifted her head, i then called her out and she sat by my 6 year old (he's her faveorite) and just fell down. I phoned the vet and explained what had happened and that she had also had another bought of runs, he said to bring her straight in and that he would have a drip waiting.
By the time we got there she seemed to get a new lease of life and was almost her old self again. He checked her temp and it was normal. He gave me some ID food to feed her tonight and he still wants her back tomorrow.
I think that the medicines that he gave her this morning just took a while to work, she's seems ok now, still a bit sleepy but otherwise fine.
And she hasn't been sick or had the runs again since, so fingers crossed.
Thanks for your replys Debbie
So glad Buffy is feeling a little better, its so worrying when they are ill, sending a big hug to Buffy

Hi
Thanks for your kind words, i passed on the hug to Buffy. We took her back to the vet today just to make sure she is ok, her temp was still a little high but everything else is back to normal.
So pleased that she is better. :)
