Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Puppy Skin Problems

Hello
My pups are 1 week old tomorrow and they appear to be getting sores on their skin, some appear to have spots and some have red skin.  Their whelping box is kept very clean so I am not sure what is causing the problem.  Could it be either milk or urine is burning their skin?  They seem happy enough in themselves but I don't want this problem to get any worse.  This has only happened in the last couple of days.  Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Kelly

I know i've read about this before but can't remember what it's called, get your vet to look at them asap, you can't be too careful with pups.let us know how you get on!!

It's a bit early you for Puppy Head Gland (Puppy Strangles) yet I would have thought but I would not let it go too long before talking to you vet.

Regards, John

Hi Kelly ,
i had the same problem with one of my litters, infact he was losing his fur .I took him  to the vets and thought it was milk intolerance.I later found out it was my fault , i was washing the blankets in washing powder and conditioner, which the pups reacted t
o,started to wash all the bedding in plain water and the rash stopped and the hair began to grow
