when my 10 week female staff plays with me, my partner and her toys she gets over excited when this happens she seems to change her ears go back tail between legs and she seems to go crazy snapping at us (mostly my partner which really upsets him) she bites him and wont let go yesterday she nipped my neck and snapped at my face nipping my mouth is this normal ? when she gets like this we started by saying NO and giving her a toy but she still came back to snapping at us so we have started ignoring her and putting her in the kitchen to calm down for 5 mins when we let her back in she is back to her normal self are we doing the right thing and does anyone have any other advice ?

i think that what you are doing is exactly the right thing....you are also right in thinking that this is usual for a pup. the trick is to be consistent, and always stop the game when things get out of hand. Im sorry your partner is taking it personally! But you r pup doesnt mean to hurt.  :)

The pup is getting too excited and stimulated, calm the play down a bit and stop the moment it starts to get out of hand. Some exciting play is good but like children it can become just too much for them and that will end in tears. As well as play try the simple handling exercises, look at feet, touch and open mouth, calm stroking and brushing, putting a collar on and taking it off.
