I've insured both my dogs with tescos for the last two years, (well added ellie at the end of the first year) but i have not yet needed to claim. However i have had the renewal form for the policy and i noticed that it has gone , only about 70p per month, so not a huge amount. I always thought with insurance, if you did not make a claim it would go down rather than up, or at the very least remain the same. However being fairly new to these things i am a little naive about such things!
I have been considering changing anyway as tescos do not offer life cover, but being on a budget i am looking for a good price. I have seen something in Dogs today a few months ago about insurance and the best deal on life long insurance seemed to be something called VIP, but i can't find any info about it anywhere. Just out of interest, can you only pay pet insurance on a monthly basis or can you pay for it annually?

Unfortunalty you don't get a no claims bonus with Dog insurance. With the cost of vets bills going up, partly due to new treatments being expensive and partly i feel to the fact that if the vet knows the dog is insured they seam willing to run more tests etc.
However i used Tesco's insurance and although i know they don't offer life long cover, they are happy to cover unvaccined dogs other than for parvo etc.
I have claimed twice in the past 6 months and have recieved a cheque from them within 7 days each time.
As with most things it's a balancing act, i cannot afford to use Pet Plan etc for my dogs, Tesco's is the less per month than i used to pay for one with Pet Plan.
