My puppy has a runny nose.  I've never seen a runny nose on a dog before.  It's just like human snot -green and gungy. I want to take her to the vets but my partner said I'm over reacting.  What do you think?

It can sometimes be a symptom of KC or variant. There doesnt necessarily have to be an accompanying cough
If unsure I would get it checked out by a  vet anyone - even if just to put your mind at ease.

Helen, yes I would most certainly take your puppy to the vets...any colour other than clear mucus is not normal and an indication there may be an infection of some sort ,as Lel says it may even be Kennel Cough. My motto with pups is 'if in doubt check it out' hope your puppy is ok :-D

Thanks for your advice guys.  I took her to the vet and thankfully it's not the dreaded KC but the vet doesn't know what it is.  Her nose is to gungy to see if there's anything up there so she has been given a course of antibiotics. Non-doggy friends think I'm mad panicking about my little angel so it's lovelly to log on to this forum and talk to people who understand.  Thanks.

Hi Helen :-)  no, you are not mad. Ask your friends if they would leave a baby they thought was sick or take it to the doctors. It is best to be on the safe side with puppies, they can go down hill fast with infections. Better one trip to the vet now when leaving it can lead to many more. Hope your puppy is ok soon :-D
