Hello!
Could anybody give me a few ideas of toys or things to make for wheeler that will occupy him and keep him thinking?? Hes got a kong and the ball which treats come out of but I really want to try something different as hes not to interested in these and thinks digging up the garden is a lot more fun ;) Im worried that hes starting to get bored and really need some ideas.
Thanks for the help!

Hi there!

What kind of dog is Wheeler?  It may be that you can tap into his natural instincts and get him a toy which will build on what he was bred to do.  Some dogs just don't seem to enjoy playing with toys, though, our ESS bitch (who was gundog trained before we got her, but turned out gun shy) wouldn't play with any doggy toys at all.  She much preferred going out 5 mile long walks :) and then when we got home she was ready to go again :D

I bought a new toy for Leon yesterday - a football with bits of rope coming out of each end. Definitely his fave so far (and we have a rotation of about a million), he played with it for ages! Bliss!

If he likes digging could he have a sandpit or a corner in the garden where he's allowed to dig.  You could bury toys or chew bones for him to find.  Obviously let him see you bury them first to start with and once he has got the idea you bury them when he isn't looking and send him to find.  For indoors you could put a bonio in a paper bag, in a small box, wrapped in newspaper, in a large paper bag, in a bigger box and so on with a small treat in each layer.  Lovely mess to clean up but a happy dog.

We have a boxer ball you fill it with food or treats hang it up they have to box it to get treats out or a dog brick -sliding panel on top space underneath to put treats they have to use nose or paw to move panels and get the treat  as you can see Abby is very into her food good thing we go for at least two long walks every day.
