This might sound strange but are dogs affected by nettles anywhere on their body? Sandra.

One of my Boxers used to react on his face but would imagine they could react anywhere

It depends very much on the coat. My old Dalmatian developed a nettle rash simply anywhere whereas Anna, a working Labrador hunts up in nettles without seeming to even notice them most of the time. I say most of the time because she retrieved from nettles a few weeks ago and on presenting me with the dummy she screwed her face up and shock her head. My guess that she had been stung on the inside of her mouth whilst picking the dummy.
Best wishes, John

my staffy looks like she has really bad cellulite when she has been running through nettles. It doesn't seem to bother her at all but she comes up in lumps that look really painful.

I think that it must as my older dog will chase his ball anywhere BUT a patch of stinging nettles :D (He has a coat like a short-haired GSD)
