Hi my neighbour went away for three weeks so i looked after her three dogs. Her bitch wasn't due in season until early July. However she started her season before my neighbour went away and was put down to one of her dogs brining her into early season. However this was over a mnth ago and her bitch is in season again, started two days ago! Is this normal??????????? The dog is 2 yrs old and hasnt happened before.

Hang on, have I read this right that the bitch is in season again only a month or so after the last time? If so then I would say there is something seriously wrong. It sounds like my Mandy when she got Open Pyometra. This would account for a discharge so soon after a season.
If i'm right then you really need to see a vet, it could well be life threatening.

I agree with John, get this bitch to a vet immediately.
hI, I thought this wasn't normal either. My neighbour is now taking her dog to the vets, emergency appointment! So worried, she is such a lovely dog. I'll let you know how it goes.
Hi my neighbour has just been around. Her dog is fine. The vet said that it isnt uncommon for the bitch to have a second season so close together if another bitch is in season. She has had test done to be on the safe safe side, will know results early next week.

Hope all works out ok. Weims can have 4 monthly seasons, some lines,
but it does not happen a month later. It could be Pyometra as this happens
nearly 4 weeks from a season. If its open Pyometra isint this better than
closed ? I was sure it was. So if you get her there in time she will be fine.
I have heard lots of people saying Weimaraners get Pyometra. Thankfully
I have never encountered it.
Sometimes hormone inbalances can cause irregular seasons but some lines
are known to have seasons every 4 months.

Hi, results are still not back yet, my neighbour is expecting it within the next day or two. Her dog is her normal self, so hoping all is well! :)

This happened to my bitch, but it was on her first ever season the vet said this can happen so I stoped panicking, it has'nt happened again.
If I remember correctly the vet said she may not have had a full season and carried it on afew weeks later.
It hasn't happened again.

Vets rang my neighbour. Test were all clear and said it was definately another season. Said that this can be commom and the only remedy is to neauter her if it happens again! I suppose time will tell.

Britney came in season when the 2 other bitch's did but only for 16 days, definate season as we took her to the vet for premate checks from the 9th day as we wanted to mate her, but she did not ovulate, a month later she came back in season and we started the checks again this time we mated her and the result was 7 healthy puppy's.
