What a few weeks this has been - Fall out re: Wedding etc and Dog taken ill, what next ..........well I can not get hold of the Lady who is doing the Balloons for the Wedding Venue, so as there is only 13 days to go I am just wondering should I find someone or will I at such short notice?  Still haven't got an outfit yet either?  OMG!!!

How many balloons are you getting and are they specials? If not why not buy your own + rent a gas cylinder and blow them up yourself! get the wedding guests involved on the day if necessary, give them something to do to occupy their time before the ceremony and they will get a kick out of it! We hire cylinders and buy balloons for promotion events at work all the time, just buy a few more than you need cos someone is sure to over inflate a few :D

OMG!!! I don't believe this!!! ..........Just had a call from Debenhams Suit Hire to say they have been trying to get hold of named person for Wedding(Brides Dad + my Son) for last two days, but they had our number as Hubby had to pay for his suithire seperately......Urgent problems with Trousers.  Went up to Son's work place, day off! On way to Flat called on my mobile for him to get back to me asap - nothing - rang doorbell - nothing, rang phone again, anyway he finally came to the door..........so I handed him a note with info on, he never even said 'thanks'

Deep breath again

Are you ready for today's update..................... Son rang last night ooooooohhhhhhh, as they've not seen us in ages could they pop round today............so I was very brave and said if they didn't mind I would prefer to pop to theirs.............suprise they said yes.  So I am off round there in a mo. EEEEEkkkkkk!!

Visited Balloon Lady ................ wonderful service.
Suit hire.............sorted.

One thing worrying me slightly is the fact my Son said they need to go over a few things with me........WHAT THINGS!!!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck.

Hi Sweep,
what's the latest???? Hope things went ok yesterday.
Karen.
- By sweep Date 11.06.04 13:12 UTC
All went ok yesterday - for the first time since they had either moved in together or the Wedding preparations I felt like whatever they said(even if I didn't agree with it) was fine.
The first thing my Son did was hug me, he knew we had had a tough time with Bliss loosing the litter etc, nothing was said, just a hug.
They told me all the things they had done etc. showed me bits and pieces too, they told me that I wont have access to the Marquee for the decoration until 11 am, cutting it a bit fine as the Wedding is at 2.15 and I have to get dressed/hair done etc.  But that's fine I am so calm at the mo, but have to get an outfit yet!!! can't do this until Wednesday as Hubby isn't on holiday 'til then, so whereever we go that day I can't come home with out something!!!

So just waiting for the day

Watch this space for Panic Attack!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 days to go 'til my Son's wedding, I'm ok......................NOT!!!  I am off to find an outfit tommorrow, I have read so much info on what sort of thing to wear, I am only 5ft 2ins, do I go for a suit? (Brides Mother has) Dress & Jacket? or Trousers & Jacket? Colour......I'd like to wear Cream all one colour and accessorize with gold/bronze.  I have worn a lot of blue & pink wanted something different..........I am babbling on sorry.  Any suggestions gratefully received.

My daughter's wedding was last Saturday!  I'm also only 5'2".  I went for a cream full length A-line dress with very flimsy matching full length coat.  I felt very comfortable and dressed for the part!!
Hope you enjoy your day as much as we all did!! :p

I hope so too!!  Being M of G is not really seen as being as important as M of B.  Glad you day turned out well.  I am dreading this shopping trip tomorrow as I know I have to get something now time is so short.

with regards to the getting the marquee getting dec'd  have you got a close freind or someone who can help out or keep an eye on how things are going ;) that way you wont be rushing about mad a couple of hours before :D
debs do some really good wedding stuff mabe its worth a look at there website?

That was another 'ickle hic cup in the proceedings - Marquee decorarting is being done by myself and my daughter, although we also have people in to do the Balloon decs too - but I was only told last week that we can't have access to the Marquee until 11 a.m. - Wedding at 2.15 - now I have had to cancel my hair app, no time as venue is 40/50 mins from were we live - Daughter is MoH - so I think we probably have about 1.5 hours to do all flowers and other bit and pieces - when my future DiL told me ..........I calmly said, " No problem" OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking nice calming thoughts - all will be well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dont panic..it will all be fine!!..I got married last year! my mum got a lovely outfit from Hobbs! they were dead good & dead helpful, a full length dress and a jacket..all one colour in a matt silk kinda meterial in pink, they sort accessories and run around after you when they know it is for a wedding..I would really recommend them..my mums only 5ft 4!
wear something that you feel comfy in..it will be a long day with lots of posing!!

This is becoming a nightmare!!!!!!!  Hubby rang me last night from work to say he'd be late home as he had to go to Hospital, he had some thing in his eye.............when he arrived home he looked awful, eye swollen etc and in some pain/discomfort.  This morning he does look any better, so my shopping trip is off for today at least and I shall see(excuse pun)how he is tomorrow, he can't drive.

NEXT!!!!!!!!!
