Could somebody please help me as i am trying to find a dog breed wich can be left on their own for about 5 hours or so while im at work.
As soon as i told my nextdoor neighbour we were thinking about getting a dog she was really happy and told me there on the spot that she would check up on it while i am at work for a s long as i need. It would get lots of love and attention and would get LOTS of exercise when i get home as i am a very active person.
Thank You.

What else do you want from a dog? What sort of breeds appeal to you? It think many breeds would cope with being left for a few hours, particularly if your neighbour is willing to help.

Guest, you are best joining to discuss a topic like this.  You will have to give much more specifics than you have given, because most dogs can cope for this length of time.
Think about: exercise, size, grooming, temperament, etc etc.  Each breed is very individual after all :)
