Some of you might remember Rio my Staffy getteing Kennel Cough a couple of months ago.
My main concern was I had a pregnant bitch at the time, who was due her pups about 3 weeks later.
Rio had her cough for ages, but luckly Ruby (mum to be) never got it :) Anyway as you no Ruby had a singleton, who is now 5 weeks old. And would you believe Rio has kennel cough again. So once again I'm worried sick pup is going to get it. I'll have to make sure I keep them separate, but it might already be too late.
Someone has informed me that two of their 5 month old pups have just got it. We were at the same club a week gone Tuesday, so obviously thats where it's come from.
I hope Rio isn't going to be one of these dogs that catch it every time it's going around.
I know you can get them protected from it, it's something up their nose isn't it. Is that given on a regular basis, or is it a yearly thing, like boosters.

sorry to hear about Rio-
Our vet recommends the nasal spray every six months but that doesnt protect from every variant ( I believe there are lots)

Out of curiosity-
Does anyone know if dogs who've had KC build up any resistance ?

In the main this does seem to happen Lel. I think most of my dogs have had one dose of KC but rarely have any of them had a second dose. I've never bothered about giving the nasal spray.

We originally gave the spray as Gus was going to be in contact with lots of dogs at training classes, showing, ringcraft etc but to be honest the more I read the less convinced I am of it being any good
