Just got the schedule through for our first open show next month and there is a section for rosette donations(£1 per rosette). On the front it says only rosettes will be awarded to BIS RBIS, BPIS and RBPIS, we can only go in for AVNSC so what does this mean?
Thanks

Don't know, may be a printers error, why not phone the number on the schedule and ask :)

It usually means that the show society is awarding the rosettes as listed, but if you donate to sponsor rosettes for your class (in your case NSC) then rosettes will be ordered and awarded for your class, and for anyother that people make the donations for.

So basically if you want a rosette you have to pay for it? That's fine by me, rosettes are good even if you don't win, at least you have someting to show for your hard work!
Thanks

Would I then only need to donate a pound to get a rosette? What if someone got placed higher than me but hadn't donated, would I still get the rosette I had technically paid for?

dont some smaller shows just ask for donations anyway and then put a list of donators name in the catalogue ?

Generally, with the shows round here who ask for this in the schedules, the rosette is for the BoB or (Best AVNSC) of the breed you have entered. You can often buy rosettes from the Secretary, for things like BPIB, if you win it but no Rosette is presented.

So if I donated then they would order a rosette for my class? Sorry for all the questions, as I said I've never done this before and I do like to ask questions!!

It depends on the classification, I think you said you would be in AVNSC, so if you donated and there was a AVNSC Puppy, Grad and Open, they would probably order a "Best AVNSC" and Best Puppy rosette. However, if only 1 class for AVNSC (in you group, I mean) then they usually go with 1st ,2nd & 3rd rosettes for that class. If you have a breed classification, then your rosette donation would go towards BOB/BPIB rosettes for the breed in which you are entered.

There is only one AVNSC class, open. Iam going to donate, it says on the front of the schedule ''support as many classes as possible'' so they might be struggling a bit(last year I remember watching and there was quite a few classes which only had one entry) and as we can only go in for one I will try and do my bit. Its at one of the biggest shows round here(agricultural anyway) so it suprises me that hardly anyone enters.
