Can anyone tell me how you can become a dog groomer. I'd like to know if there is a course that is required and any other info that might be of use. I just don't know where to start.

Thanks

There are lots of places which do groomer training - often advertise in the wekkly and monthly dog press.  the nationallly recognised qualification is city & Guilds.  there are a coupl of pro-groomer assocations, the British Dog Groomer Assoc. and the newly formed Professional Groomers.

bye

I live in peterborough and so far have only experience in grooming my 2 cavs. Its just something that I've been thinking about for about a year and thought I'd find out more. Marie

I am doing an introductory course on dog grooming for 10 wks and am in my 6th week at the moment, last week I was helped to clip my westie and I think I did a good job, I am really enjoying it so much that I have just signed up to do a 2yr NVQ 3 grooming course, I look forward to monday nights. Tomorrow I am taking my GSD with me for a groom and bath. I live in Dorset  and am doing my course at Kingston Maurward College.
