Hi
Can you advise.
My 9mth old cocker likes nothing better than pigs ears. I just wondered though how many a week - or month even do other people give?
I am aware that they are quite fatty but on the other hand are a natural treat. I tend to give him 3 a week - is this okay?
thanks !!! :)

They are deep fried and therefore I will not feed them.
My dogs have one every Saturday morning as a treat. I think 3 a week sounds a lot. When my dogs have a pigs ear, there tea gets reduced at night as well, as they're not as hungry.

Mine get one every couple of weeks

Mine eats them raw and so I do feed them as part of the barf diet :)

When i gave pigs ears rosie the westie used to take it from the pup and have both sitting in front of her then she would start swearing ( girning ) so I had to stop them

i don't give pig's ears at all. i gave my dog one once and he crunched it up in no time and it was gone! it seemed so dry and brittle and i was afraid the pieces would cut his mouth or throat. i don't know if it can, but that is what my feeling was.

One of my dogs almost died from eating one of those. It cut up her intestines so much that she had bloody diarrhea for 24 hours straight. I thought I was going to lose her. Needless to say, I don't give anything like that anymore. I'm sure lots of dogs go along just fine with no problems. But it's that one chance that isn't worth the risk to me.
