Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Why does she do this?

One of our dogs always wees on top of our other dogs wees but only in the park and only when we are taking journeys and stop off to let them have toilet breaks.  She doesn't do it anywhere else, ie back yard or walks around the block.  When we are in the park she will watch the other dog like a hawk and even if she has to run some distance, will always go over and wee on top of the other wee.  I'm just curious as to why she does this and why only in certain circumstances.  Our other dog doesn't do this so just wondered if anyone had any kind of explanation.  Thanks for any thoughts.

She is putting her scent on top of the other dogs as a sign of dominance. Lions and other animals in the wild do this aswell so that theirs is the last scent that any other animal will smell!

Thanks for that!  She is the more dominant of the 2 that's for sure.  She doesn't do it to any other dogs, just ours.  Why she is so particular about where she will do it I don't know.  I guess just one of those things that only she would know!

At least she wees on there's!!  I went to a friends a few weeks ago and Anton always comes and sits on my knee, the next minute he wee'd all over me, I was not impressed, everyone else thought it was hilarious though :d

Don;t worry about it.  My older BC does it to the younger one and it doesnt matter where we are. He sometimes doesnt wait for the younger pup to finish and pees on his head - very pleasant...

Mine all form an orderly queue to pee on the same spot. :)
