you could supplement her diet with biotin, zinc and silicon.

You could try a zinc and castor oil cream (nappy cream) They're usually very rich and should help to soften the skin and protect it, and if it doesn't work at least its cheap and won't harm the dog.
Jackyjat - you could try soaking your feet, using a pumice stone (or similar) and then applying..........nappy cream :D its really very good :D

I have very dry skin due to asthma and i use aqueous cream I buy a big tub from the chemist is only a couple of pounds you can either apply straight to the skin or add some in the bath water

I don't mean to hijack this thread and didn't intend to tell you the details of my feet! Aqueous cream won't touch it (although I do use it for everything else) but I do use sudocrem and some wonderful stuff called Flexitol Heel Balm (urea in it breaks down the dead skin ugh!) and I must use a pumice daily. Because I have been wearing sandals, despite all precaution, I've got deep and painful cracks deep into my heels.
... ... hence my sympathy for dogs with cracked pads!
PS Everyone should have a huge tub of aqueous cream on the bathroom shelf, it's amazing, effective and cheap! The basis for every other face cream there is too.

the other thing i use is clarins leg lotion for tired legs i use this on my feet for hard skin but its more expensive about 18 pound but its great for nippy feet as well as legs

One extreme to the other Jean! Does that work for 'restless legs'? Is it any better than good 'ole Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion?

My OH suffers with cracked feet, the doctor told him to soak his feet, dry, add sudocrem, then put a non-waterproof plaster over the top, it keeps the skin nice and soft so no pain from the cracks!

Yes its better than the body shop stuff i used to use that one before the clarins. I had a broken ankle & had nasty scarring from the surgery I used the clarins and it smoothed all the scars out The clarins has all natural ingredients it also has st johns wort. Yes it works for tired legs It is worth every penny Sorry if i sound if im advertising

Thank you all for your replies they dont seems to bother her at the moment just wanted to get it sorted before it did.
