This morning, I packed up Kirra and we drove from Calgary to my parents house in BC. We did everything normal, and this evening, I was rubbing her belly and found red spots on her lower (back) belly and the inside of her back legs. She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, but won't let us touch them without putting up a fight.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what it may be, and what I should do? Her vet is back in Calgary, and we aren't going home till Monday.

My english bulldog has had similar symptoms. it is usually caused by a staff infection and it is uncomfortable when it gets touched they usually chringe, its because of the infection inside the skin. our vet usually prescribes antibiotics to tame it down and somtimes steroids (but my pup has very bad allergies). It could also be possible that her skin is allergic to something she was laying on. i would see a vet when you get back.

Is there anything I can do right now before we get back, like a bactiera killing agent or something? Why would this suddenly surface, with no exposure to anything new?

the only possible agent to kill that is an antibiotic from your vet. for now i would try to wash the area with antibacterial shampoo, preferably hypoallergenic. does she seem to be sick? the only advice i could give is to bring her in as soon as you can. the bath would make her feel more comfortable. good luck. let me know who she is

The next morning I woke up and the spots were pretty much gone. She had gotten me up at about 4am (something she hasn't done since she was 4 months old), and I took her out. She had the runs, but when she was done, she went back to sleep and woke up seemingly fine. Last night it looked like they were darker again, but then again this morning, she seemed better. She is acting completly normal, so I am not to worried. Like I said, I got back to Calgary tomorrow, so I'll see how she is then.
As for a bath, she hates them, and I don't have any antibacterial stuff here, and nowhere to buy any, (I am in a small town), so I'll have to wait for that too.
Although, she seems fine today, so I'll just wait and see.
Thanks.

It is more than likely that the runs and the spots are not connected. Think the tummy trouble is just the journey and strange water and surroundings and the spots are a reaction to something either eaten or brushed against. If you are not happy with her condition when she has been home for a couple of days or are very worried at any point then take her to a vet, any vet. Personally I would not put or bath the spots in anything other than a saline solution until you know what they are. (Saline solution - tea spoon of salt in 1pt of hot water, allow to cool - that is UK measurements)

Hi
My dog had a few little bumps on her so I did a check for fleas checked the other dog and cat came up with nothing , but as we are into the hot weather thought I would spray them to be on the safe side , my big mistake I used Frontline spray for cats and dogs, spayed onto my rubber glove and covered the dogs main trunk of the body ,
A couple of days later one of the dogs was taken to the vet he said it was a staff infection a reaction to the frontline on synulox and a bath but her coat is a mess and am told it could take 3 month to get back to her in good condition . Its now a month later and you can see its a bit better.
