Hi can anyone tell me what a "hot spot" is as my friends Mal had a scabby patch come up on the back of his head, and that is what the Vet said it was..Please can anyone enlighten on this matter how it is caused and what it actually is..

I think it is sometimes called moist dermatitis - is he itching at all ?

Hi lel..yes he had been itching it.He was given AB and has since nearly cleared up..We thought he had an infected tick bite! as there was small patches around the area as though he had been bitten..Hopefully he won't get it back as the vet shaved the area and a Mal with a bold spot looks strange! :-)
