got up early this morning to find my delightful furbabies had decided to eat the bin as i forgot to remove it last night, so after letting the dogs out and cleaning up i went back to bed, only for the phone to ring an hour later mum answered the phone in a youve just woken me up voice, for the person on the other end to say 'this is so and so from essex police, somebody has called us from this number' mum replies everyone in bed so after making sure everything is ok the police woman says good bye, turns out my 5 year old sister had gone down for the toilet and on the way back decided to use the phone  she dialled 999 and carried on dialing before putting the phone down.
anyway we decided that as it was a nice day we would go for a picnic and take the dogs along too, so we get food ready and start sorting the car, i have no car at the moment so we are going in my mums little fiesta that i bought her for xmas, so i sort the boot out-take parcel shelf out put vet bed in use crabs to hold table in place, we then get kids in car my 10 year old sister in the front with the coolbag at her feet and drinks on her lap, my 19 year old sister gets in the back with my 5 year old sister, mum lets the dogs out to me one by one, tess jack then bruce, i shut the lid down get in with dog supplies on my lap, pull out of the drive only for my 19 year old sister and 10 year old sister to swap places as there was too much weight in the back.
after much shuffling and are we there yet, how much further and the occasional bark we arrive at the country park, we have a walk round for a couple of hours allowing the dogs to swim and tire them selves out before eating, and i can honestly say i am so proud of my babies they have never been on a picnic before and they were really well behaved.
the only downside was a little black lab came wandering over to us, me thinking ahead had packed a spare lead so slipped the lead over her head and went looking for her owner only to be told that she doesnt need a lead on so just to let her go, to which mum replied if she comes over again she will be staying with us until the nearest police station, they then put her on a lead.
and the verdict? if its nice friday we're doing it all over again will have to make sure i remember the camera though lots of photo oppertunities and no camera :(

AAh, this takes me back to happy days when the tribe were little enough to crush into tiny cars :D and make serious nuisance calls like your little sister :D I had such a good laugh reading about it and glad Bruce and co behaved so well. How are the Visiviszlas getting on?

I'm quite jealous!!!

Which one did you go to - Belhus or Thorndon - and who went swimming (Freya loves Thorndon, but we have to make sure she is on a short lead - or she would be in the water with the biggies!)

we went to thorndon, it was lovely as the lake is closed to fishing at the mo so the dogs can go in without the worry of disturbing the fisherman, as the the lake is deeper than belhus they had to learn very quickly to launch themselves of the side rather than just running in, so friday were going to belhus as the dogs tired too quickly as they had to pull themselves out, which 9 times out of 10 i ended up pulling them out :D

the vizzies are doing great, as jake our oldies springer does the bomb job at chelsea flower show every year, the vizzies went along too to see how they would cope with the crowds, and they loved it, they havent started on any substances yet but are still searching for dummies, they are at last behaving themselves in the kennels rather then escaping every five minutes and in the case of melyn trying to pull the bars of the kennel.

and the downstairs phone is now unpluggged at night just incase my lil'sis' tries to phone the police again :D
