Hi
I am desperately looking for a Border Terrier or decent X for an only child 6 year old who would genuinely love it to death.  Papers are immaterial as the dog is destined to be one extremely loved pet and definately not for show or breeding.  We live in the country area of Northumberland and have a very large garden but unfortunately the £400 price tag is out of our reach.  My son has been wanting a Border Pup for over a year now and no other breed will suffice.  We do not even care if one leg is shorter than the other as long as it is young and preferably a male.

If you can help please ring: 01661-835861

Hello guest. I wouldnt get a puppy just for your 6 year old on because in a few months time he may not want it anymore. You must realise that YOU will be doing most of the work for the dog. If your going to get a dog I suggest that you think about the time and effort that goes in to raising any puppy such as toilet training, general training (sit/stay etc), socialising and expense. Read up on the breed before you get it.
I would suggest you try the Border terrier rescue. Im sure they will give you advise on the breed and you may find your perfect dog or even puppy from them.

On the other hand the poster does sound like she has given it much thought and the relationship between a child and its first pet can be one of the most rewarding and special relationships it will have in its early years.
