thanks
hi there i rang sam but sadly i cant offer my bitch untill she has her pups which is around friday.. Have you tried ringing your local radio station and ask them to put something on air??? as not everyone will know about this site...Good luck. if still no joy i will ring sam when my girl has had her pups...

Have you tried contacting all the local vets? They may be treating somone's bitch for a phantom pregnancy.

I was going to suggest that too. Contact the vet abou a phantom pregnancy, or a bitch thats pups have just been weaned maybe, but the risk of infection might be too great.

If you are unable to find a suitable bitch, then hand feed them. Get some Whelpi or other puppy milk and get a bottle from the vet (don't get one from a pet superstore as these don't seem to be as good). The one my sister used on her litter was a glass bottle which had various sized teats so you could choose the most appropriate for your puppies. Even if the puppy doesn't suckle from the bottle at first you are still able to drop tiny drops in the mouth and control the amount so the puppy doesn't inhale the milk and drown. It would be a lot of work, but if you can keep them warm and get some feed into them, they may survive until you can get more help.

when i helped my girl with 11 pups last year i found the ordinary baby bottles much better than the ones from the vets. the teats were very thin on the vet bottles. Whereas pups could get there tongues around the teats on baby bottles...

Sorry did you say if you have done this before?..if the pups are not suckling forget the bottle and use an eye dropper..and a little honey with boiled water also helps boost energy in lethargic pups..and a hot water bottle in the bed and of course top and tailing with warm wet cotton wool! Have reared many pups and kittens with no probs..except lack of sleep :-)
Is there an update on the orphan puppies???? i do hope they are alright....
