Where can I find a dog park to let my dog off the lead, around West Yorkshire area?

Have you tried asking your local council? Generally I've found it's more a case of where
can't you let your dog off, rather than where you
can.

I thought dog parks were in places like the U.S. too

Strictly speaking there aren't dog parks in the UK, just public green spaces that dogs are allowed, or not.
Hi
We have a dog park here in London. It's called the 'dog green'
Anyone can use it whether they have a dog or not but the council have set it up for dogs.

I wonder how long ot will be before (as in many paarts of the USA I am told)these parks are the only places we will be allowed our dogs off lead?
At the moment we can take our dogs on most public land.

Hi Sasha why don't you get an OS map and walk the public footpaths? There are usually some empty fields on these walks where your dog can run along the paths ahead of you :-)
Yes, thank you think I'll do that :-)
Hi Sacha,
I've PM'd you. :)
Kath.
Where in West Yorkshire are you? There are loads of places around - I'm in North Leeds - near here there is Beckett Park, Roundhay Park, Meanwood Park, Golden acre Park - all dog friendly and lovely walking. Or a bit further out - Otley Chevin is lovely as is Ilkley Moor - both stock free. Elsewhere in WY - Scammonden Reservoir (near Huddersfield), Hardcastle Crags (Hebden Bridge)... also stock free - and lots more. You don't need a specific dog park.
Have fun.
Janet
