We are going to the races this bank holiday and was wondering if anyone knows whether we would be allowed to take the hounds on the course, just to watch!! we go every year but haven't taken them before, and i can't remember if i've ever seen any walking about!!:)

I think its a bit too busy for dogs to be there. The derby at Epsom usually is and I wouldnt recommend it if theres gypsies about (fair grounds).

hmm... not sure! :) Are you off to epsom? The downs there has a lot of room so if you wernt allowed at the race it self Im sure you could wonder around it :)

No its only a little race meeting at cartmel in the lakes.need to know cos i will leave candy at home with my daughter if not.we're going up in the caravan and staying for a few days, and going to the races on monday.i know what you mean about it not being ideal but she'd be ok for a couple of hours!!

Yes Im sure she'll be fine :) I bet they would love to go with you and smell all those new smells :D Wheeler would be weeing everywhere :rolleyes:! 

Well if you mean Point-toPoint races, then every dog in the neighbourhood will be there...but keep tightly on a lead...I once witnessed a nasty accident at a p-p where a terrier slipped the collar & took off after the horses & caused a really serious accident :(

yeah i realise all that sam but i just needed to know if dogs were allowed on to the course, anyway i'll ring them today.

They are allowed, so it'll be me and hubby and two staffy pups in the caravan this weekend in the lakes, i'm ignoring the weather forecast.!!lol.:)

mine always come if i go!!!! i think its a country law that you must have a dog to attend!!
obvisley the dogs cant be on the course while they are running,but are generally allowed to walk the course befor hand! they get really excited though!!! tara loves it!!!watches all the races like a hawk!!
