Kirra's 1st Birthday is next Tuesday (June 1st), and I'd like to do something special for her.  What do you guys do for your dogs on their special days?

Well happy early birthday to Kirra! The big one! My girl's first birthday, I baked a cake in the shape of a Husky. I didn't really have much support from my family, as they think celebrating a dog's birthday is dumb. So I got Kieron in the room by ourselves and sang to her and presented a small piece of the cake to her. She loved it as she isn't usually allowed to have people food. Anyways, I gave her all kinds of treats and lots of attention. On her second birthday, we went to a friend 's house. They love her so much, so they really put on a party for us. They had streamers and balloons and everything, all Kieron. They had bought dog treats and wrapped them in thin tissue paper so she could unwrap them herself. And the mother of the house had gotten a few cans dog food and put them all together, shaping it into the shape of a bone. She then sprinkled dry dog kibble all over the top of it as sprinkles. In the middle of the dog food bone, she wrote "Kieron" with a toothpick. We all sang happy birthday to her and I blew out her two candles for her. Then we gave her the presents, which she happily opened by herself.

This October will be Kieron's puppies' first birthday. I have her son, Houdini, and the friends who threw Kieron's birthday have Shahoona, Kieron's daughter. So the twins will probably have one of the biggest dog birthday parties in our area. We'll probably have dog food cakes for them, balloons, games, and presents. Can't forget the party hats!

I believe my dogs are my family, so why not give them the best when they have a birthday, too? Its always so much fun for both people and dogs. =)

So glad I am not alone in the doggy birthday celebrathion thing.  Puglet is 3 on Monday, and I have been stockpiling prezzis - even sent off to the USA for a cuddly toy, in the shape of a Birthday Cake, which plays Happy birthday :)  Also got a water bowl in the shape of a pink heart, andlots of lovely little treat type things.  She is having little sausages and chicken bites, and a cake too of course.  My nephew (now 8) has put himself in charge of choosing the cake - wont let me make one!  So far it is between a caterpillar and a pink pig cake!  Also got her a rosette to wear round her neck, saying "Birthday Girl".  Max wants to organise Sausage catching games, and pass th parcel - not sure how we organise this one with the dogs, but will give it a go!
bye

I had a beach party/picnic for my pups first birthday and all the dogs had pork pies as birthday cakes.  It was total mayhem with loads of dogs, kids and owners playing on the beach.  Not sure how I'm going to top it next year but I have definitely inspired a lot of my friends to have pet parties because it was such a good day.  the day was rounded off by putting the dogs and kids to bed and all the adults going out clubbing - what a perfect day.

Well, my oldie Asti was 13 a week past Wednesday so she had cooked chicken for tea with a raspberry Victoria sponge as her Birthday cake!   :)

She is now one.  If this link will work for you, check out this picture.  It took a bit to get it, but I think it is awful cute.

I made my boy a big birthday cake and he had a party with his best mate and he had a sleepover!  They both chewed bones, played, ran around my garden, dug a big hole in the border, flattened all the plants in the garden, did circuits around the dining table and generally caused mayhem but had a fantastic time which is what it's all about!

It's a big event and when I told people in work they thought I was mad!  They just don't get our doggie lifestyles do they :-)
