It's normal, but if it were me.....I'd push the dog away and say, "no." It's not good manners. You don't have to be very cross, just firm, like, "no....you mustn't do this." Then be sure to praise when he gets off. It can mean that the dog is showing everyone that he is more important. LOL. Yes, embarrassing isn't it.
