hi, just seen an advert in the local paper. someone is selling labrador pups for £800. it says there are 7 yellow lab puppies with KC papers and parents have been hip scored with eyes tested etc, all with good results. i didnt know labradors usually went for so much money.
is this right? it doesnt say anything about their pedigree or wether they are show quality.

I dont know anything about prices for show pups, but I dont think that a pup from a Field Trial Champion bitch would be as high as £800 - i would expect nearer £600 - 700. "Average" bitch pup around £400. Dog pups often about £50 less.
From a working lab point of view I would doubt that a litter of pups worth that much would need advertising as the mother would have to be something special! However, people seem to pay as much (if not much more) than that for many other (imo) inferior breeds.
Fully grown, well-trained WORKING labrador - £1500+++
However, when I think of the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears that go into a really good working lab, then I would suggest that they are extremely good value!
