As some judges say ' one I'd like to own' in thier critiques about the dogs they have judged I just wondered which dog / bitch you would like to own other than the ones you do and why? My personal favourite is Ch Domino Flashy Lad who even though the first time I saw him was in veteran I thought he was as perfect to the Breed Standard as you could get and he was constantly showing himself to the judge.

Oooh quite a few actually :)

For me (Norwegian Elkhounds) it would be Camalot's Total Celebration (USA) who died last year at nearly 16, and I part own her Grandson, and have a Great Grandaughter.
Also in Norway Nor/Swe Dual Ch Winny, who was mother of the first dog I ever used, so I have the Grandaughter (who sadly can't hold a candle to ehr Grandmother :) ) and her descendants.

In my breed, it would have to be Ch.Axel von Esterfeld of Raycris (imp). To me, he is the epitome of how a male Large Munsterlander should look. Substance, masculinity but a touch of elegance. How I wish he were alive today!

For Gordons it would be Ch. Macalder Ace of Diamonds
http://www.macaldergordonsetters.com/AcePage.htm, he is one of the best Gordons I have ever seen. Smashing coat, conformation, and a very good, long but powerful stride. He also shares Macalder Upland Hunter and Macalder Autumn Sweetness with Penny in his pedigree. I hope to one day have a bitch pup sired by Ace or in some way closely related to him, even if I have to make a trip to the States. :D
For Valls it would be Int. Ch Jaxonville Elosia Elisa, or Int. GB. Ch Starvon Falcon Flyer Over Castleavery. Both are dogs of the type I like. Falcon Flyer especially has lovely conformation(very good shoulder conformation, nice topline, lovely head), nice markings, good "square" dog, and Starvon Falcon Flyer seems to pass on these qualities to his offspring. I also hope to have a pup from Castleavery kennels. :D

Only seen a couple of pictures of him. I believe he was a lovely dog and not bred that much either
What is/was his sisters name ?

His full litter sister is Ch Spirestaff Avenging Angel of Tikkurilan.
And no he wasn't bred much, I beleive when the couple who owned him split up, the lady had him PTS. :(
He wasn't that old about 5 or so I think.

Hi,
Both Barrels is a lovely dog :) in fact I think his son "Wildstaff Look again" is very like him.
I saw Ch Skean Dhu, a very ice dog but I prefer Jimmy Jazz however over him I prefer "Rapparee Threapwood Handyman" the breeding back then from the Rapparee kennels was amazing like peas from a pod. You could spot a Rappare dog miles off.
Karen
i would settle for one of osman sameja yorkie dogs like you say so perfect to the breed standard i remember "justin" seeing him at the crufts some years ago on bbc 1 i was moved to tears watching him walk aroud the ring could tell he was special i am a big fan

Have to say I am a little prejudiced against Justin - he took BIS the year Dexter was RBIS! ;)

Would love to have owned Ch Grayco Hazelnut the lovely brown Toy Poodle that won BIS at Crufts many years ago now. She to me was the ultimate "showdog". So full of her own importance and obviously adored her owner.

thats what makes it so interesting, different people different tastes, i had no time whatsoever for jimmy jazz or indeed both barrels but obviously plenty of people did.others i rated very highly would be ch spartan victor, ch topcroft trailblazer, ch holmestaff king arthur, ch briglen bellona.my prefered colour is probably red but as you can see i only picked 1 red dog as i believe in looking far firther into it than colour or my own bloodlines..

forgot to say.if we all liked the same dog it would become quite boring and only one dog would win all the shows, wait a minute has that not been the case lately (SBT's) lol, incidently i am not struck on that one either but can see why so many are.

Very tactfuly put Cooper :)
I like the topcroft dogs too. But the others you mentioned I have never had the pleasure of seeing in the flesh, so couldn't comment, but I have seen a picture of Spartan Victor, and he appeared to be a nice dog.
Did you ever see any of the Rapparee dogs or am I going back too far? ;)
Karen
Domino Flashy Lad takes me back a bit! He won everything when we first starte showing Molly!
For me it would have been CH Glowud Red Image, Molly's grandfather, he was absolutely beautiful. Always loved Red Staffords, hence my girls :)

yes i remember some pure rapparee dogs but unfortunately never saw some of the old famous ones like threapwood handyman, the gladiator and imo the most important rothersyke vow.there are very few dogs around without one of these dogs in there pedigree if you go far enough back.my first bitch which all my dogs go back to was basicly a rapparee/reetuns cross.another top producer of more recent times (well after the heyday of mr and mrs boltons kennel) was betchgreen dubber who looked just like those dogs (he was bred from that line) and produced dogs of the same stamp.

Hi Cooper,
The rapparee dogs were always classed as "firey" and yet to me they had a nature that was true Stafford, and I never meet one that started trouble, including my Sam who was line bred from rapparee, bt that was back in the 70's. The dogs that followed like betchgreens like Cradbury were good dogs. And some nice dogs came from the kennels/breeing of Fred Phillips.

Hello Karen
The dogs are great. Ive moved to a new house in the middle of nowhere in the west of scotland. Its great. many acres of free space. Not on a bus route petrol at 96p a litre.
The dogs are Murphy is 28month now and turned out a cracker, and Maggie is a big 2 year old now and she is a cracker also.
Ive been setting up a small buying and selling business on e bay. Iused to do my general trader around auctions up and down the country. Im trying to get it so that I only deal on e bay. So far so good. Thats why you havent seen me around the board as I spend so much time on the PC that when Im finished I just want to switch it off. I noticed a topic under searching, a few people are still confused as to the ISBTs origin so I thought I better try and educate the masses again.
Hope everybodys well
Regards Mick
