Does this colouring exist in the uk???

I know it does in the usa, i just can't seem to find any breeders in the uk.

White Schnauzers ? Guest if you go to the Schnauzer Club of GB website you will see this is being talked about there. I personally don't like the idea..to me the concept ranks along with silver Labs and all the other strange 'designer' colours!! :-( sorry i'm probably old fashioned) I am possibly very wrong but I do just wonder if playing around with 'new' colours contributes in any way to breeding in defects? After all  white in some species is classed as 'albino'and this can result in problems of various sorts???? :-)

No white standard schnauzers.......only white minis on the continent and in the USA.  However there was a breeder here of white minis a while ago.....not sure if they are still breeding them.

Breeding with only one end in mind can never be right, whatever the desired feature is. Over the years it has been found that concentration on developing the perfect something or other will often bring with it some unwanted feature or a health problem, that is why we have standards to try and stop people breeding to extremes. (ie excessive coat undesirable - clean eye free from entropion - Excessive skin on body highly undesirable)

There have been occasions when a particular feature is common elsewhere and then it is the case that the standard is changed to accommodate what is a normal part of the breed elsewhere but to change the standard to accommodate a fad is not responsible. Don't know which applies in this case so my comments are not directed directly at the Schnauzer.
