Millie - 5 month lab - always seems to have sleep in her eyes. I can literally clean them every half hour. Does this seem excessive to anyone else? I don't want to trouble the vet if it's normal but I can't remember any of my other dogs having this problem!

It's usually no problem, just an active tear duct. It would pay you to mention it next time you go to the vets but I would not make a special trip unless of course there is anything more serious involved.

I would agree with John with the caveat to make sure there are not extra eyelashes which can irritate the eye and produce gunk.  The vet will ascertain this for you if you cannot see it.
