i unfortunatly have to leave my dog on his own during the day. he is not very happy with this and barks and growls until someone returns. would getting him a mate be an idea or is there another solution?

Can you give us a bit more info before we see what possible solutions there may be. Initial thoughts are that a companion would not help - you'd end up with two unhappy dogs.

How long is your boxer left for, how old is he, what kind of home do you have, garden etc, what is he barking and growling at, what have you tried?

Lots of questions but they wil help us.
