Thinking of entering the race for life 5km run for breast cancer. Mom had a double masctomy in 1993. Anyone ever done it or thinking of doing it.

Sutton Park (West Mids) looks to be my nearest  :)

Several of my friends did it yesterday in Stratford (I sponsored them!). Most people walked, with only about a third running, because it isn't a race as such - there's no prize for coming first. It looked like a maximum turnout, so a successful day, and well worth doing. Go for it!

Yes did it about 3 years ago.  I organised a group of about 20 to do it together.  Great fun and worthwhile.  We all went to the pub afterwards to 'congratulate' ourselves.

I do it every year, a great reason to try to get fit.  You dont have to run it alot of people walk.  I took part in the Playtex moonwalk on Saturday night for breast cancer (15000 women doing a 26.2 mile power walk round London @ midnight in their bras :D :D ) It was a great atomsphere but I wouldnt recommend it unless you have a wish not to be able to use your legs for a few days after ;)

I am doing the race for life on the 6th of june in memory of my mum and my nanna this will be my second yr, although this yr me and all mums workmates are doing it together, there are bound to be a few tears but we will also remember her fondly.  Good luck to everyone taking part and for those of you thinking about it, i would say go for it its a great turnout and a great atmosphere.

Michelle :)

I did it last year and the year before in memory of my Nan, Grandad and three family friends Guy, Margaret and Ralph I only walked it mind i dont think i could run 5k (i'm very unfit) First year i did it with my mum and second time on my own, dragged the OH along to watch.

The coventry race is saying no longer available so i guess they have filled all of the places this year
