thanks but have been on SCWT club waiting list for 8 months now so am really trying to bypass the system. Anyone have any ideas?

Try and be patient, Estelle.  Like you we were on the waiting list for ages - and like you we got fed up waiting.  So we went to a Wheaten Club show and found a breeder who had just mated her bitch.  We reserved a puppy there and then.  The litter was born a few months later and we eventually brought our pup home.  Just before we did though we got a phone call from the breed secretary to say we had been matched from the list with a breeder.  We decided to stick with our original decision but boy, did he turn out to be a difficult dog ..!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, of course, but I can't help thinking how different things might have been if we'd patiently waited our turn on the list....
