Can someone please give me some more examples.
Up to now I buy frozen Tripe and mince from Pets at Home.
From my local butcher I get chicken wings, liver, heart, pork ribs (which are all meat, no bone, strange!)
I also get free bones, some that they eat most of and some marrow bones.
I usually go in one day and order what I want and pick up the next day.
I went in today and tried to think of different things. Must admit even though he's a very nice man, he knows nothing about barf so he's no help. I just have to ask if he's got, and he'll tell me.
He doesn't have chicken necks or rabbit.
I asked for pigs trotters, which he has (free) so I'm getting some, now what do they come under, is it rmb or just bone, and do they eat it all.
Anything else I could try asking for.
Michelle.

kidneys, all parts of the body to eat apart from the weight bearing bones of sheep and cows (these would be recreational only), duck, pheasant, venison, game hen, guinea fowl, turkey drumsticks etc, turkey and chicken necks, chicken carcases, chicken livers Trotters are really RMBs rather than recreational bones IMHO and mine eat everything :D

Thanks tohme + archer.
Tohme, I think I give my dogs a good mix, rmb, muscle meat, offal, veggies, eggs and shell.
Just need to now get a good variety, rather than just chicken things.
Up to now I have never added anything to their food, is it essential, or can they go without. I will start adding if they need it. Can you let me know what they really shouldn't do without, and where is best to get it. Would it be normal health food shops.
Also a week on wednesday my pup will be 3 weeks old, and I will be thinking about weaning. Will it be best to wean straight onto raw (start as I mean to go on) What are the best things to start her on, and will she need extra's added.
Thanks.
Michelle.

You can wean puppies straight onto raw food.
Supplements are a personal thing. IMHO the one thing I would always give my dogs whatever their diet, would be Fish Body Oils for the Omega 3s which both commercial and raw foods are deficient in and with that you must feed Vitamin E (natural)
You could feed 1000mg FBO per day and 200iu of Vit E per day for a small dog 400 iu of Vit E per day for a big dog.
I would definitely supplement puppies with Vitamin C to bowel tolerance.
Otherwise everything else is a matter of choice and, in a properly varied diet, all other things are provided.

Chicken stock carcasses, my butcher gets me 150 for about £3.00, loads of meat still on them, beef rib bones, bull hearts, these are massive, one of these feeds 5 dogs at one meal. chicken necks, giblets, rabit, I have a good butcher tho. last order completely filled an upright freezer for £22.00 just over a months worth of food for 5 dogs. Just wish I could find veggies as cheaply. Any suggestions on veg?
