My Bitch has been in labour since thursday afternoon and all has been okay so far, Last night bout 8pm she really got into bed tearing and i gave her a stack of newspaper for this purpose, she is not eating but allowing herself to drink a little as the weather is warming. I have stayed up with her and slepted next to her all nite and will keep this up for as long as it takes.  My question is how long now could it be before the contractions start and 2nd stage comes. (she is a husky)

I would be seeking the Vets attention by now.  I have only had a bitch do this once, it was her thrid litter, and she had Primary Inertia, and needed a C section, and was spayed.

Brainless I agree, long time to be in labour and sounds like she is in trouble and needs the vet urgently, I always say 'if in doubt go to the vet'. I have had this happen to me when a big first pup got stuck and with a dead pup  but I would never wait this long .You can usually tell early on if there problem. The poor girl would be too tired to deliver after this length of time anyway. I WOULD GO TO THE VET NOW  IF TOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO POSTER!!
