Topic Dog Boards / Showing / SKC Carpark Charge
- By Alli [gb] Date 15.05.04 18:33 UTC
Hi all

Did anyone else know there was going to be a charge for the carpark at SKC today?
I know I'm probably making a fuss over the £2.00 charge, but I feel if they are going to charge for car parking it should say so on the Schedule.

Agree with you, what happens if you only have a credit card with you.

I was a bit miffed about that too. I knew that I had certainly paid car parking charges at the same time as entries in the past. So I thought I would have done that this year. However on checking the schedule it does actually say parking is payable to Ingliston on the day. It's at the bottom of page 1, not very prominent is it?

Is this not the 2nd or 3rd year that SKC has had parking charges?   I must admit I think it's a bit "off" especially as it's used for Gundog Breeds Champ show and they have no parking charges and the road in is full of pot holes, so where is the money going?   At £21 an entry per dog, SKC has to be the priciest show on the circuit.

What a rip off.
Glad I don't show anymore.
Are they trying to make showing just for the wealth?
I stopped showing 5 years ago.Ok we took my boy out 4 times last year.He is now in Veteran. He got 2 RCCS.
3 of the times we stayed B&B our choice. Each time it cost us well over £100 each show.We all enjoyed it so it wasn't expensive. Its expensive if you don't enjoy it.
I don't miss getting up at 5 am and going down that M6.That is one motorway I just hate.
How do people go on who take 3 and 4 dogs to shows?
Ive never had 3 or 4 dogs but I think the more dogs you enter and the more shows you should get a discount.
Just my opinion.

Hi,

I agree too, a rip off. I was so taken back when we wrer asked to pay ,when we said we never paid before he was quite rude well you have to now and for your £2
you didn't even get directed to your parking slot like some.

If you are only entering one dog this makes the entry £23 - what a liberty, but then look at Crufts what was the carpark charge on top of the entry £6. :(
