hi i have a 2yo cav who keeps digging her way out of everything! we built her a dog run with kennel(admittedly not the best construction ever biult but should have kept her in!) just dug under it within an hour.........she digs her way out of the garden under the fence and out into the street, it would be lovely to let her out in the garden for an hour while im cooking dinner without making one of the kids stand on guard all the time........would it help to buy her a m8? any suggestions?

You need to put your fencing 2ft down in order to stop her escaping and maybe getting killed or causing an accident in which others may be killed or injured and, if your bitch is not spayed, you need to prevent her from escaping during seasons so that she does not produce an unwanted litter.
If fencing is not an option, you could put down netting around the perimeter bottom which will discourage her, however this needs to be watched as it could be potentially dangerous, or plant very thorny bushes so that she is discouraged from trying to escape.
If you get another dog you could end up with two of them doing a "Steve McQueen" :(

Could you concrete the base of the run?

I think you will find that Cavaliers generally aren't happy to be in a kennel unless there is plenty of activity to watch and enjoy. They really are people dogs, bred to be human companions.
How many Cavaliers do you have now Bettyboop? Was it 2 bitches and a dog, plus the ones that you've bred?? Do they keep each other company in the kennel or is this girl kept on her own??

hi Val, i just have poppy at home now.....nina and dancer live with my mum( gives her something to keep her busy :).....have to say nice surprise you remember me!
i think were gonna have to take the time to construct a proper run by the sound of it.... concrete would have to go a few feet down rite? and if were gonna take the time to dig it all out may as well make a proper job of it eh....!

erm sorry val just reread your post............i hope im wrong in thinking you were trying to be sarcastic....are you trying to paint me as somebody who just throws of litters willy nilly and abandons them to a kennel????!!!
because if you are then we both know you are not only wrong but way out of line!
i have built a run in the garden to put poppy in so that she can be outside for a while whilst i know she is safe and secure although justifying why i have a DOGRUN for my DOG is ludicrus!! if i misread you then apologies

I beg your pardon??????????????
What a strange thing to say when I spent much time last year reading and interpreting pedigrees for you, explaining the health checks necessary for Cavaliers and trying to help you find a suitable bitch to breed from!!
