Topic Dog Boards / Health / Pup not well

Hi

Yesterday and today my beagle  has not been himself and has been picky with food (he is anyway but he is turning nose up at chicken and rice) and his doggy doos are runnyish and brown.

He has been very sluggish and has been napping a lot and has fits of shivering and his little nose feels hot. He has had episodes of this before and has bounced back after a few days.( he was ill for a couple of days when I came back from Crufts)

If he is still not himself tomorrow morning I will get the vet to check him out.

It is very worrying for me as I lost a precious girl beagle pup to Parvo years and years ago and I could not bear it if anything happened to my pup.

Any suggestions anyone.

his fussiness is one problem but he is not eating anything at the moment.

Just checked his nose again and it is cold. I am wondering if his teeth are playing him up again,  he is now 7 months......

It sounds as though he has eaten something that has upset him. I wouldn't mess around if he is still bad tomorrow - down to the vets.

Went to the vet last night

He has a virus, he is on antibiotics and metacalm for 5 days and had a temp of 40.   Not a happy pup.

He has lost his appetite but is fussy anyway, has been since a pup.  The vet weighed him and said he was a good weight.

Just have to get him eating again now.

Thak you for your concern.
