Hello all,
I was up in Yorkshire at the weekend, (lovely place-very foggy!) and took Isla and co out onto one of the moors. We all had a good run but when I got back to the car, noticed that Isla has a deep graze on her front leg, just above the ankle joint at the front. It looks like she's put her foot between a couple of rocks and scraped it - Its about 1 inch wide and about 1- 1/2 centimetres high. I wouldn't normally be bothered about it at all, but its taken all the hair, and the skin off and just left a bloody graze which has now gone a bit yellowy/green. I cleaned it all up with wound wash and gave it a puff of antibacterial powder (the luminous blue stuff:) ), but I don't know if I should cover it up or not, she doesn't seem unduly bothered by it.
What would you guys do?
Cheers Ali :)
p.s. Isla won first prize at CD, qualified and won a Challenge Trophy as well, clever dog!!

I am sure it will be all right, it is dependent on how confident you are to know if it takes a turn for the worse, the discharge is I think normal for that sort of injury. So what can I say if worried see the vet if happy carry on with the treatment. Should the area seem hot or she seems distress then I would take her anyway.
Cheers Jackie,
My vet nurse suggested using savlon on it, but at the moment it seems nice and dry so I think I'll leave it for the moment. It doesn't smell bad or anything so I'll just keep an eye on it .
Thanks
Ali :)

Would rather use the powder, a cream would pickup all the dust and dirt to say nothing of encouraging the dog to lick. Well done on the awards by the way.

I use colloidal silver and leave it open.
CDex next then! :D
Tohme,
Cheers,
I'm hopefully going to do Stamford and maybe Scarborough championship shows, I'd really like to get a CDX, but if not, I may just go for the UD's in the Autumn, by which time my younger dog will just about be old enough to start the whole thing off again! (No rest for the wicked!!)
Cheers Ali :)
p.s Was it you that wrote the piece in WT monthly about a pre-beginners test? If it was, it was very interesting, a lot of our starters in Trialling seemed rather keen, about having a trial trial, (If you know what I mean).
