i am looking for a family pet for myself and my two children, as the boys are now 9, less boisterous themselves and ready to care for a pet of their own, im hoping that a staffy puppy is the right choice for us, i dont know very much about the dog but have been reading up on here and understand that they do make good family pets and are good with children. I am a stay at home mum and now have the time avaliable to dedicate to looking after a puppy. As i really dont know where to begin with this, could anyone help me finding a breeder with pups ready to bring home mid june time? We live in the West Midlands but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance to get the pup of our dreams....
Many thanks in anticipation of your help

If you get in touch with the local Staffy breed club they will be able to help you.

Try this website:  http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/discoverdogs/terrier/t1076.htm

It's the KC website and has all the breed clubs listed on it.  IMO, Staffies are indeed one of the best breeds to have around children - my girls are fantastic with kids!

Rachel,
Why don't you join, there are lots of Staffie owners on this forum, who could give you lots of information before you decide whether a Staff is the right breed for you.
I've got 2 staffie bitches myself, who are fantastic, but they wouldn't be right for everyone.  Have a look on www.staffords.co.uk for some more information. :)
